BVI Yachts Lifestyle and Community:
What it’s like to own a Virgin Islands Yacht
The British Virgin Islands have long been a magnet for sailors from around the world, drawing them back season after season to its pristine waters and welcoming shores. Boaters don’t just pass through here; they build lasting friendships, creating a home away from home. The combo of the BVI’ ideal sailing conditions, Caribbean culture, and a shared passion for the sea creates a unique atmosphere where newcomers quickly become lifelong friends. Each sailing season reignites this sense of belonging, as familiar faces return, stories are shared, and the community grows stronger.
BVI Sailing Hub
The West End Yacht Club (WEYC) has been a cornerstone of the British Virgin Islands’ sailing community since its founding in 1978. Initially formed by sailors who frequented Soper’s Hole, Tortola, the club has grown into a vibrant hub for sailing enthusiasts, with its headquarters located at Omar’s Fusion on the Sand Spit in West End, Tortola. WEYC commitment to the sailing community makes it a beloved organization in the BVI. Whether you’re an experienced sailor or a newcomer, the WEYC offers a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy the sport and connect with fellow sailors in a relaxed setting.
